Waterford City

The city of Waterford in south eastern Ireland was besieged from 1649–50 during the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland. The town was held by Irish Confederate Catholic under General Richard Farrell and English Royalist troops under general Thomas Preston. It was besieged by English Parliamentarians under Oliver Cromwell, Michael Jones and Henry Ireton.

Mount Sion (Irish: Cnoc Sion) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Waterford City, County Waterford, Ireland, founded by Brs O'Connor and Malone, teachers in the above school. Although technically separate from the school, the club still maintains a close relationship with the school, sharing the same sports facilities in the city.

Roanmore GAA (Irish: Ruánmhór) is a GAA club in Waterford City, Republic of Ireland. Formed in 1970, the club made rapid progress, achieving Senior Hurling status in 1980. The club's greatest achievement was winning back to back Waterford Senior Hurling Championships in 1989 and 1990.The club has provided many players to the Waterford Senior Hurling Panel over the years, most notably, Noel Crowley and Kieran Delahunty.

Walsh Park (Irish: Páirc Breathnach) is a GAA stadium in Waterford, Ireland named after Willie Walsh, a well-known referee and long time campaigner for Gaelic games in Waterford. It is one of the two homes of the Waterford Gaelic football and hurling teams, the other being Fraher Field in Dungarvan.The stadium is set to undergo a €7m redevelopment which will result in an increased capacity of 16,500 by 2020, though it is unknown if it will be ready in time for the 2020 Munster Hurling Championship..
