Yongsan Liberation Village-Huam-dong

The Joseon dynasty (also transcribed as Chosŏn or Chosen, Korean: 대조선국, lit. Great Korean Country) was a Korean dynastic kingdom that lasted for approximately five centuries. Joseon was founded by Yi Seong-gye in July 1392 and was replaced by the Korean Empire in October 1897. It was founded following the aftermath of the overthrow of Goryeo in what is today the city of Kaesong.

The Korean Empire (transcripted as Daehan Jeguk, Korean: 대한제국; Hanja: 大韓帝國, lit. Great Korean Empire) was the last independent unified Korean state. Proclaimed in October 1897 by Emperor Gojong of the Joseon dynasty, the empire stood until Japan's annexation of Korea in August 1910. During the Korean Empire, Emperor Gojong oversaw the Gwangmu Reform, a partial modernization and Westernization of the military, economy, land system, and education system, and of various industries.

Camp Kim is a military facility located adjacent to Yongsan Garrison in Seoul, South Korea. Camp Kim is home to a USO facility, an Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) distribution and storage facility, an AAFES vehicle repair facility, the Special Operations Command Korea, and the Yongsan Garrison office for vehicle registration and decals.

Camp Coiner is a 55-acre (220,000 m2) United States Forces Korea installation located on the northern part of Yongsan Garrison located in Seoul, South Korea. It was named after 2nd Lieutenant Randall Coiner assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment of the 7th Infantry Division who was posthumously awarded the Silver Star for actions taken in 1953 during the Korean War near the village of Sokkagae.

Namyeong Station is a ground-level metro station on Seoul Subway Line 1 in Galwol Dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Subways of Line 1 move on Gyeongbu Line from this station. The station's sole exit offers access to a range of schools and Yongsan Railway Office. Travel time from Namyeong Station to Incheon on Line 1 is 65 minutes.

The Statue of Brothers (Korean: 형제의 상; RR: Hyeongje-ui sang) is a symbol of the Korean War at the War Memorial of Korea in Seoul. Its English text reads as follows :"The Statue of Brothers is an 18 meter wide and 11-meter high symbol of the Korean War. It consists of the upper part, lower part and inner part.

Noksapyeong Station is a subway station on the Seoul Subway Line 6. It is located on the eastern end of the Yongsan Garrison, and the western end of Itaewon. It is the main station servicing the Haebangchon and Hoenamu-gil communities, which are known for having significant foreign populations.This station has low ridership due to its location, but is noted for its impressive interior design.

Samgakji Station is a subway station on the Seoul Subway Line 4 and Line 6. The Seoul War Memorial is a short walk away from exits 11 and 12. This station is on the west end of the Yongsan Garrison, which is a short walk from exit 13. Although not connected to this station by a transfer passageway, Namyeong Station on Line 1 is a short walk from here.

Sookmyung Women's University Station is subway station 427, on the Seoul Subway Line 4 in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. It is also called Garwol station (갈월역). It is located in front of the main entrance of the Sookmyung Women's University. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood of the subway station.Though not connected by transfer, Sookmyung Women's University Station is only a two- to three-minute walk from Namyeong Station on Line 1.

The War Memorial of Korea is located in Yongsan-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It opened in 1994 on the former site of the army headquarters to exhibit and memorialize the military history of Korea. It was built for the purpose of preventing war through lessons from the Korean War and for the hoped for peaceful reunification of North and South Korea.
