Carcavelos Beach

Oeiras (Portuguese pronunciation: [oˈɐjɾɐʃ] (listen)) is a municipality in the western part of Lisbon metropolitan area, a subregion of Greater Lisbon, in continental Portugal. It is part of the urban agglomeration of Lisbon, 16 km from the capital. The population in 2011 was 172,120 living in an area of 45.88 km2, making the municipality the fifth-most densely populated in Portugal.

Carcavelos (Portuguese pronunciation: [kɐɾkɐˈvɛluʃ]) was, until 2013, a civil parish in the Portuguese municipality of Cascais, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) west of Lisbon. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Carcavelos e Parede. The parish was known for the Carcavelos wine. With the decline of the winemaking industry in the region, the attractiveness of its beaches have made the parish a destination for surfing, due to the waves here.

Saint Julian's School is a British international private school, located in Carcavelos, Cascais Municipality, on the Portuguese Riviera, in the Greater Lisbon region.

Carcavelos e Parede is a civil parish in the municipality of Cascais, Portugal. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes Carcavelos and Parede. The population in 2011 was 45,007, in an area of 8.11 km².

The Quinta de Santo António (Portuguese: Palácio da Quinta Nova/Quinta de Santo António/Quinta dos Ingleses) is a well-preserved Roccocco and Pombeline estate and residence in the civil parish of Carcavelos e Parede, in the municipality of Cascais, Portuguese district of Lisbon.

The São Julião Lighthouse is located in the fort of the same name, which is the largest sea defence structure in Portugal and is situated on a headland on the north bank of the River Tagus estuary in Oeiras, Lisbon District. It is a square masonry tower and the lantern is painted white, with a red dome.
