Godstone via Barley Mow

Godstone is a village and civil parish in the county of Surrey, England. It is centred 6.3 miles (10.1 km) east of Reigate at the junction of the A22 and A25 roads, and near the M25 motorway on the escarpment of the North Downs to the north. In its far south, it has a railway station, with its own small community South Godstone separated by agricultural land.

Bay Pond is a 7-hectare (17-acre) nature reserve in Godstone in Surrey. It is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust. It is part of Godstone Ponds Site of Special Scientific InterestThis is an educational reserve run by the Trust. It has four ponds and the main one is believed to have been made in 1611 to hold back water for a mill.

The A25 road is a main road in the South East of England. It carries traffic from Guildford in Surrey eastward through Dorking along the southern edge of the North Downs, i.e. the Vale of Holmesdale, between that range and the Greensand Ridge to reach mid-west Kent. En route, the road passes through Reigate, Redhill, Nutfield, Bletchingley, Godstone, Oxted, Westerham, Brasted, Sevenoaks and Borough Green.

The 1929 Luft Hansa Junkers G.24 crash occurred on 6 November 1929 when a Junkers G 24 of Luft Hansa crashed at Godstone, Surrey, United Kingdom while on an international scheduled flight from Croydon, Surrey, United Kingdom to Amsterdam-Schiphol Municipal Airport, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Of the eight people on board, Glen Kidston was the only survivor.

Godstone Ponds is a 13.6-hectare (34-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Godstone in Surrey. Bay Pond is an educational nature reserve closed to the public which is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust.The three ponds on this site have been created by damming, with the oldest, Leigh Mill Pond, estimated to be around 1,500 years old.

Tandridge is a village and civil parish in the Tandridge district, in the county of Surrey, England. Its nucleus is on a rise of the Greensand Ridge between Oxted and Godstone. It includes, towards its middle one named sub-locality (hamlet), Crowhurst Lane End. In 2011 the parish had a population of 663 and the district had a population of 82,998.
