St. Thomas Mount (known in Modern Tamil as Parangimalai) is a small hillock in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, near the neighbourhood of Guindy and very close to Chennai International Airport.The ancient Syrian Christian community of India trace the origin of their church to St. Thomas the Apostle. From the 17th century, this part of Chennai was populated predominantly by Anglo-Indians.

Alandur taluk is a taluk of the district of Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The centre of the taluk is the neighbourhood of Alandur. The headquarters of the taluk is Guindy division. On 4 January 2018, Chennai district was expanded by annexing Alandur taluk.

St. Thomas Garrison Church (also called St. Thomas English Garrison Church) is one of the oldest churches in the St. Thomas Mount area of Chennai, the capital of the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The Church was built by the British government at the request of the army officers in the area in 1830.

Saint Patrick's church is a church located near St. Thomas Mount, in Chennai, India. The patron saint is Saint Patrick. This church is been there for around 300 years. From 18th century Roman Catholics in the locality have worshipped in this church. From 1944, only Indian priests serve this church, before which priests from different countries served.
