Introduction

Start in the car park and walk downhill to the Brook and turn left. Follow the path past the lakes on the signposted track to the New River Old Course sign and turn left onto the muddy woodland path. Carry on to the Gough Path sign and carry straight on all the way to Forty Hill and left out onto the road. Turn left into Forty Hall just after the turning for Gable Cottage. A walk through the gardens and down past the vineyard. Back up to the house, around the lake and back to the car park.

Forty Hall is a manor house of the 1620s in Forty Hill in Enfield, north London. The house, a Grade I listed building, is today used as a museum by the London Borough of Enfield. Within the grounds is the site of the former Tudor Elsyng Palace.
