The Banpo Bridge (Korean: 반포대교; Hanja: 盤浦大橋) is a major bridge in downtown Seoul over the Han River, South Korea, connecting the Seocho and Yongsan districts. The bridge is on top of Jamsu Bridge, forming the upper half of a double-deck bridge; it is the first double deck bridge built in South Korea.

Jamsu Bridge

The Jamsu Bridge crosses the Han River in South Korea and connects the districts of Yongsan-gu and Seocho-gu. The bridge was completed in 1976, and lies just meters above the waterline, allowing the bridge to submerge during periods of high rainfall. In 1982, Banpo Bridge was built on top of the Jamsu Bridge, creating a two-deck bridge.

It was called the Hangang Bridge No. 3 (Jesamhanganggyo; hangul: 제3한강교) until 1985, when its name was changed to the current name.
