Asnieres

Asnières-sur-Seine (French pronunciation: ​[a.njɛʁ syʁ sɛn]) is a commune in the Hauts-de-Seine department and Île-de-France region of north-central France. It lies on the left bank of the River Seine, some eight kilometres from the centre of Paris in the north-western suburbs of the French capital.

The Cimetière des Chiens et Autres Animaux Domestiques is often claimed to be the first zoological necropolis in the modern world (the ancient Ashkelon dog cemetery, of course, predates it by thousands of years). It opened in 1899 at 4 pont de Clichy on Île des Ravageurs in Asnières-sur-Seine, Île-de-France.

The canton of Asnières-sur-Seine is an administrative division of the Hauts-de-Seine department, in northern France.
