Marikina River

The Marikina River Park is a system of parks, trails, open spaces and recreation facilities along an 11-kilometre (6.8 mi) stretch of the Marikina River in Marikina, eastern Metro Manila, Philippines. The urban riverside park covers an area of 220 hectares (540 acres) running through the villages of Santo Niño, Santa Elena, Jesus de la Peña, San Roque, Calumpang, Barangka and Industrial Valley Complex in the western part of the city.

SM City Marikina is a shopping mall owned and managed by SM Prime Holdings, and is located in the of Kalumpang, Marikina City, Philippines. As part of the chain of SM Supermalls, the mall is owned by Henry Sy, Sr.Upon completion in 2008, it is the 31st SM Supermall built in the Philippines, the 14th SM Mall built within Metro Manila, and 3rd among other SM malls to open in the eastern region of Metropolitan Manila, after SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City and SM Center Pasig in Pasig City.

Calumpang (also spelled Kalumpang) is one of the barangays of Marikina City. It is bounded to the north by Barangay Tanong, west by Barangay Barangka, south by Santolan, Pasig City and east by Barangay San Roque. It is named after a wild almond, Sterculia foetida.

Jesús de la Peña Chapel or San Isidro Labrador Church is a historic visita in Marikina where the first Catholic Mass was held. Built by the Society of Jesus in the year 1630 with the permission of the reigning Archbishop of Manila, its establishment marked the beginning of the recorded history of Marikina, which was once a vast and mountainous area traversed by the Marikina River.

The Andres Bonifacio Avenue, also known by its short form A. Bonifacio Avenue, is a 4-lane highway in Marikina that connects Aurora Boulevard in Quezon City to the west and Sumulong Highway in Marikina to the east. It was named after Andres Bonifacio, the head of Katipunan. Andres Bonifacio arrived in the area during the Philippine Revolution after hiding in the caves of Montalban (now Rodriguez, Rizal).

Santolan station is a station on the Manila Light Rail Transit System Line 2. Santolan station is one of the many elevated stations that can be found on the line located in Barangay Calumpang in Marikina. The station is located on the stretch of the Marikina–Infanta Highway (also known as Marcos Highway) and is named after the adjacent barangay Santolan in Pasig.
