The Division of Melbourne is an Australian electoral division in the state of Victoria, represented since the 2010 election by Adam Bandt, a member of the Greens.The division was proclaimed in 1900, and was one of the original 65 divisions to be contested at the first federal election. The Division of Melbourne encompasses the City of Melbourne and the suburbs of Abbotsford, Ascot Vale, Burnley, Carlton, Carlton North, Collingwood, Cremorne, Docklands, East Melbourne, Fitzroy, Fitzroy North, Flemington, Kensington, North Melbourne, Parkville, Princes Hill, Richmond, Travancore and West Melbourne.

Carlton North is an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 4 km north from Melbourne's Central Business District. Its local government areas are the Melbourne and Yarra. At the 2016 Census, Carlton North had a population of 6,300.The suburb is bordered by Princes Street and Cemetery Road to the south, Royal Parade to the west, Nicholson Street to the east and Park Street to the north.

The Ian Potter Museum of Art at the University of Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia was established in 1972. It houses the art collection of the University of Melbourne. Current director, Kelly Gellatly, was appointed in 2013.The Potter, as it is known locally, presents a curated exhibition program of historical and contemporary art.

Optometry training is now undertaken in tertiary institutions, however, the college continues to work closely with the University of Melbourne, and other universities in optometry education.

The Church of All Nations, formerly known as the Wesleyan Methodist Church, first held religious services on Sunday 6 March 1870. Located on 180 Palmerston Street, Carlton in Melbourne, Australia, the bluestone-covered church was designed by English architect Joseph Reed of Reed & Barnes. Mr Johns Pidgon was contracted to build the Romanesque building after the church received a loan of £300 for its construction when the previous (Stucco) brick chapel beside it became too small for the growing congregation.

The Carlton Fire Station, or Fire Station No. 3 or Former Carlton Fire Station, on Swanston Street in Carlton, Victoria, a suburb of Melbourne, Australia is a historic fire station which was built in 1927-29.It was deemed of state level heritage significance in Victoria by the Victoria Heritage Council.

The Melbourne University tram stop is a major terminating point and stop of the Melbourne tram system. It features a single island platform and three shunts. It is located on Swanston Street, Carlton, and is the major tram stop for the University of Melbourne, its name sake. It was opened in 2005 and is one of the busiest stops on the network; six tram lines terminate at it, while two run through.
