From Sugamo to Korakuen

Bunkyō (文京区, Bunkyō-ku) is a special ward located in Tokyo, Japan. Situated in the middle of the ward area, Bunkyō is a residential and educational center. Beginning in the Meiji period, literati like Natsume Sōseki, as well as scholars and politicians have lived there. Bunkyō is home to the Tokyo Dome, Judo's Kōdōkan, and the University of Tokyo's Hongo Campus.

Tokyo Metropolitan Hibiya High School (東京都立日比谷高等学校, Tōkyō Toritsu Hibiya Kōtōgakkō) is a Japanese high school founded in 1878 as the Tokyo First Middle School or Tokyo First Junior High School (東京府立第一中学校, Tōkyō Furitsu Daiichi Chūgakkō). It was well known in the 1950s and 1960s for the large proportion of graduates who gained admission to the prestigious University of Tokyo; though it suffered a decline in the 1970s, as of 2005 it was once again being referred to as the "best public high school in Japan".

Hakusan Station (白山駅, Hakusan-eki) is a subway station on the Toei Mita Line in Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan, operated by Toei Subway.

Isenoumi stable (伊勢ノ海部屋, Isenoumi-beya) is a stable of sumo wrestlers, part of the Tokitsukaze ichimon or group of stables. Its current head coach is former maegashira Kitakachidoki. As of January 2019 it had twelve wrestlers.

Sengoku Station (千石駅, Sengoku eki) is a subway station on the Toei Mita Line in Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the Tokyo subway operator Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation (Toei). It is numbered "I-14"

The Koishikawa Botanical Gardens (小石川植物園, Koishikawa Shokubutsuen, 40 acres, 16 hectares) are botanical gardens with arboretum operated by the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Science. They are located at 3-7-1 Hakusan, Bunkyō, Tokyo, Japan, and open daily except Mondays; an admission fee is charged.

Koishikawa Secondary Education School (東京都立小石川中等教育学校, Tōkyō-toritsu Koishikawa Chūtōkyōikugakkō) is a public day school established by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. The campus is located in the Bunkyō district of Tokyo, Japan. It is a combined junior high school (students study for 3 years) and senior high school (also 3 years).

Toyo University (東洋大学, Tōyō Daigaku) is a university with several branches in Japan, including Hakusan, Asaka, Kawagoe, and Itakura.
