Dia:Beacon, Riggio Galleries is the museum for the Dia Art Foundation's collection of art from the 1960s to the present. The museum, which opened in 2003, is situated on the banks of the Hudson River in Beacon, New York. Dia:Beacon occupies a former Nabisco box-printing facility that was renovated by Dia with artist Robert Irwin and architects Alan Koch, Lyn Rice, Galia Solomonoff, and Linda Taalman, then of OpenOffice.

The Beacon station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Hudson Line, serving Beacon, New York. Trains leave for New York City every hour during off peak hours, and about every 15–25 minutes during rush hour. It is 59 miles (95 km) from Grand Central Terminal, the travel time from which varies depending on run, ranging from 1 hour and 10 minutes (super-express runs) to 1 hour and 15–18 minutes (trains making all local stops north of Croton-Harmon) and 1 hour and 25–30 minutes (trains making all local stops north of Croton-Harmon and some lower Hudson stops, such as Ossining and Tarrytown).

The Lower Main Street Historic District is a historic district comprising the first several blocks of Main Street (NY 52 Business) in Beacon, east of its intersection with South Street, the end of its concurrency with NY 9D. The District covers about 50 acres (20 ha.) and includes 32 buildings, most of them in the late 19th-century Italianate style.

The former Lewis Tompkins Hose Company No. 1 Firehouse, sometimes known as 5/33, was the first built in what later became the city of Beacon, New York. Designed by Schuyler Tillman and Benjamin Hall in a Second Empire style, it was completed in 1893. It is located at 140 Main Street, a block away from NY 9D, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 6, 2004.

The Church of St. Joachim and St. John the Evangelist is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located in Beacon, Dutchess County, New York. It was established after a parish mergers of the Church of St. Joachim, (Beacon, New York) and St. John the Evangelist (Beacon, New York).

The Reformed Church of Beacon, originally the Reformed Dutch Church of Fishkill Landing, is a congregation of the Reformed Church in America. It claims to be the oldest church in Beacon, New York, United States. It is located on NY 9D about 0.5 miles (1 km) south of Beacon's municipal complex and downtown area.

The Springfield Baptist Church, formerly Trinity Methodist Church, is a historic church in Beacon in Dutchess County, New York. It was originally constructed about 1849 as the Associate Presbyterian Church. It was expanded and improved in 1864, 1887, 1891, and 1895. The church consists of a large nave with a steeply pitched gable roof.
