The Calvert Marine Museum is a maritime museum located in Solomons, Maryland. Museum has three main themes:regional paleontology,estuarine life of the Patuxent River and Chesapeake Bay,maritime history.Among its exhibits are the Drum Point Light, the bugeye Wm. B. Tennison, and the J. C. Lore Oyster House; the latter two are National Historic Landmarks.

J. C. Lore Oyster House, also known as J. C. Lore and Sons, Inc., Seafood Packing Plant, is located at 14430 Solomons Island Road South, in Solomons, Calvert County, Maryland. It is a large two story, rectangular frame industrial building constructed in 1934 as a seafood packing plant. It replaced a 1922 building that was destroyed by the 1933 Chesapeake Potomac hurricane.

Drum Point Light is one of three surviving Chesapeake Bay screw-pile lighthouses. Originally located off Drum Point at the mouth of the Patuxent River, it is now an exhibit at the Calvert Marine Museum.

The Chesapeake Biological Laboratory (CBL) is a marine science laboratory on the Chesapeake Bay in Solomons, Maryland, and it is the oldest state-supported marine laboratory on the East Coast of the U.S. It was founded in 1925 in a small waterman's shack by Dr. Reginald V. Truitt and is part of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science.

Johnstown is an unincorporated community in Calvert County, Maryland, United States. Preston-on-the-Patuxent was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

St. Peter's Chapel is an historic Carpenter Gothic-style Episcopal church building located at 14590 Solomon's Island Road, South, in Solomons, Calvert County, Maryland. Built in 1889, it features the steep roof, lancet windows and board and batten siding typical of Carpenter Gothic churches. In 1900 it joined with Middleham Chapel to form Middleham and St.

The William B. Tennison is a Chesapeake Bay bugeye built in 1899 and converted to an oyster buy-boat in 1906-07. With the conversion her sail rig was removed and an engine inserted, and is the only surviving example of this conversion. Her construction marks a transition between log construction and plank construction.

Solomons United Methodist Church is an historic United Methodist church building located at 14454 Solomon's Island Road, South, in Solomons, Calvert County, Maryland. Our current pastor is the Rev. Dottie Yunger.

This is a list of all lighthouses in the U.S. state of Maryland as identified by the United States Coast Guard. There are fourteen active lights in the state as well as three automated caissons and eleven skeleton towers replacing previously manned lights.The first lighthouse in the state was lit in 1822 and the last in 1965 (ignoring automated towers erected later); the oldest surviving structure is the Pooles Island Light and the oldest still active is the Cove Point Light.

Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, built in 1927 in a mixed Art Deco and late Gothic Revival architectural style,is an historic Roman Catholic church located at 14400 Solomon's Island Road, South in Solomons, Calvert County, Maryland. Established in 1888, the parish is the oldest Catholic parish in Calvert County and its 1927 church building is the oldest Catholic church building in the county.
