Wingate

Station Town is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated to the south of Wingate, west of Hartlepool. Station Town is easily accessible, by road via the A19 and the B1280.

Wellfield Community School is a coeducational secondary school located in Wingate, County Durham, England.The school was formed in 1980 from the amalgamation of Wellfield Grammar School, Wingate Secondary Modern School and Wheatley Hill Secondary Modern School. Yohden Hall School closed a few years later with staff and pupils relocating to Wellfield.

Wellfield railway station was a railway station built by the North Eastern Railway (NER) on the route of the Hartlepool Dock & Railway (HD&R) to allow interchange between the existing line and their newly opened line from Stockton-on-Tees which had opened to passenger traffic just two years earlier. When first built, the station was located in a rural area, being located immediately to the north of the bridge carrying the Durham to Hartlepool road over the railway line.
