Chow Kit

Chow Kit is a sub-district in central Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is located around Jalan Chow Kit (Chow Kit Road) and is enclosed by the parallel streets of Jalan Raja Laut and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. It is named after Loke Chow Kit (陸秋傑) a well-known miner, municipal councilor, public official, and also the first local owner of a department store - Chow Kit & Co – which was the largest in KL at the time.

The Grand Hyatt Duta is an unfinished skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 1994, the Hyatt Group awarded a contract to develop the RM570 million Duta Grand Hyatt project. The project was targeted for completion in 1997. However, due to the 1997 Asian financial crisis, the developer suffered financial difficulties, which led to the halting of construction in July 1998, and the project remains abandoned as of 2019.
