Giudecca

Dorsoduro is one of the six sestieri of Venice, in northern Italy.Dorsoduro includes the highest land areas of the city and also Giudecca island and Isola Sacca Fisola. Its name derives from the Italian for "hard ridge", due to its comparatively high, stable land.

The Molino Stucky is a Neo-Gothic building in Venice, on the western end of Giudecca island, near the ancient village Fortuny. It was built between 1884 and 1895 by the Swiss businessman Giovanni Stucky, whose father had married into the Italian Forti family and moved to the Veneto, and designed by Ernst Wullekopf.

The Garden of Eden, also known as the Eden Garden (Italian: Giardino Eden) is a villa with a famous garden, on the island of Giudecca in Venice, Italy. It is named after an Englishman, Frederic Eden, who designed the garden in 1884 and owned the property for a long time. From 1927 it was owned by Princess Aspasia Manos and her daughter Queen Alexandra of Yugoslavia.

Le Eremite is a small Catholic church in the Dorsoduro area of Venice, Italy. It was built at the end of the 17th century for Augustinian nuns. It formed part of a larger complex which included a convent and schools run by the nuns. The schools ran until the middle of the last century and taught children of all ages - from infants to high school.

Palazzo Foscari (also called Palazzetto Foscari) is a Gothic style palace in Venice, built in the 14th century; it is located at the civic number 795 in the island of Giudecca, near the Molino Stucky.Originally one of the palaces built for the 65th doge of Venice Francesco Foscari and his family, in the late 19th century Palazzo Foscari in Giudecca was also inhabited by Giovanni Stucky, the Swiss engineer who completely renovated and enlarged the flour mills of Venice, applying modern manufacturing concepts and techniques (source: mosaic in the staircase, datation 1898).

The Chiesa del Santissimo Redentore (English: Church of the Most Holy Redeemer), commonly known as Il Redentore, is a 16th-century Roman Catholic church located on Giudecca (island) in the sestiere of Dorsoduro, in the city of Venice, Italy. It was designed by the architect Andrea Palladio and built as a votive church to thank God for the deliverance of the city from a major outbreak of the plague.
