Yu Garden or Yuyuan Garden (simplified Chinese: 豫园; traditional Chinese: 豫園; pinyin: Yù Yuán, Shanghainese "Yuyu" lit. Garden of Happiness) is an extensive Chinese garden located beside the City God Temple in the northeast of the Old City of Shanghai at Huangpu Qu, Shanghai Shi. It abuts the Yuyuan Tourist Mart, the Huxinting Teahouse and the Yu Garden Bazaar.

The City God Temple or Temple of the City Gods (simplified Chinese: 上海城隍庙; traditional Chinese: 上海城隍廟; pinyin: Shànghǎi Chénghuángmiào; Shanghainese: Zånhae Senwonmioh), officially the City Temple of Shanghai, is a folk temple located in the old city of Shanghai. It commemorates the elevation of Shanghai to municipal status and is the site of the veneration of three Chinese figures honored as the city gods of the town.

The Old City of Shanghai (Chinese: 上海老城厢; pinyin: Shànghăi Lăo Chéngxiāng; Shanghainese: Zånhae Loh Senshian), also formerly known as the Chinese city, is the traditional urban core of Shanghai. Its boundary was formerly defined by a defensive wall. The Old City was the county seat for the old county of Shanghai.

Nanxiang Bun Shop (simplified Chinese: 南翔馒头店; traditional Chinese: 南翔饅頭店; pinyin: Nánxiáng Mántóu Diàn; Shanghainese: Nuezhion Meudoe Di) is a traditional Shanghai eatery located in the City God Temple precinct in the old Chinese section of the city. It was established in 1900. Nanxiang is a town near Shanghai where the xiaolong mantou was invented.

Nanshi District (simplified Chinese: 南市区; traditional Chinese: 南市區; pinyin: Nánshì Qū; literally: 'District of South City', was a district located in central Shanghai until its merger with Huangpu District, Shanghai in 13 June 2000. It had an area of 8.29 km2 (3.20 sq mi), of which 1.42 km2 (0.55 sq mi) was water, and population of 435,420 as of June 2000.

The Fuyou Road Mosque (Chinese: 福佑路清真寺; pinyin: Fúyòu Lù Qīngzhēnsì), also known as the North Mosque, is a mosque in Huangpu District, Shanghai, China.
