Museum of Western and Oriental Art in Kiev, also known as the Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko Museum of Art (Ukrainian: Музей Мистецтв ім. Богдана та Варвари Ханенків) is the largest collection of foreign art in Ukraine.During the Soviet times, the museum ranked the third in the USSR by the value and size of its collection after The Hermitage in Saint Petersburg and the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow.

Khreshchatyk (Ukrainian: Хрещатик, [xreˈʃt͡ʃɑtɪk]) is the main street of Kyiv, Ukraine. The street has a length of 1.2 km (0.81 mi). It stretches from the European Square (northeast) through the Maidan and to Bessarabska Square (southwest) where the Besarabsky Market is located. Along the street are the offices of the Kiev City Council which contains both the city's council and the state administration, the Main Post Office, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the State Committee of Television and Radio Broadcasting, the Central Department Store (TsUM), the Ukrainian House, and others.

The Besarabsky Market (Ukrainian: Бесарабський ринок, Besarabs'kyi rynok), also referred to as the Besarabka (Ukrainian: Бесарабка), is an indoor market located in the center of Kiev on the Bessarabska Square at the southwest end of the city's main thoroughfare, the Khreshchatyk. Constructed in 1910-1912 to a design of Polish architect Henryk Julian Gay, the market features 896 square metres (9,640 sq ft) of market space.

The Bessarabska Square (Ukrainian: Бессарабська площа, Bessarabs'ka ploscha) is a square located at the southwest end of Khreshchatyk, the main thoroughfare of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The Vladimir Lenin monument in Kiev was a statue dedicated to Vladimir Lenin, the founder of the Soviet Union in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The larger than life-size (3.45 meters [11.32 feet]) Lenin monument was built by Soviet sculptor Sergey Merkurov from the same red Karelian stone as Lenin's Mausoleum.
