Leonforte circuito

Leonforte (Liunforti in sicilian) is an Italian comune with a population of 14,046 in the Province of Enna, Sicily. The town is situated 22 km from Enna, in the centre of the Erean Mountains at 600 metres a.s.l.

The Granfonte, located at the homonymous street in the municipality of Leonforte (Siciliy - Italy), is a monumental fountain built in Renaissance-Baroque style, it has a symmetrical shape and extends for 24 meters, consists of 24 bronze spouts where he still gushing fresh spring water .This work was built and completed in 1651 by Prince Nicolò Placido Branciforti, founder of the town of Leonforte, it represented the usual place of meeting of the population with its twenty-four spouts, gave rest to all the families of the town, to passersby and pets .
