Créteil (French pronunciation: ​[kʁe.tɛj]) is a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 11.5 km (7.1 mi) from the centre of Paris. Créteil is the préfecture (capital) of the Val-de-Marne department as well as the seat of the Arrondissement of Créteil. The city is, moreover, the seat of a Roman Catholic diocese and of one of France's 30 nationwide académies (districts) of the Ministry of National Education.

Saint-Maurice is a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 6.8 km (4.2 mi) from the center of Paris. The insane asylum Charenton was located in Saint-Maurice; it is now a psychiatric hospital.

Saint-Maur–Créteil (French pronunciation: ​[sɛ̃moʁ kʁetɛi]) is a railway station in the commune of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Val-de-Marne.

The redoute de Gravelle (Gravelle redoubt) is a fort in Joinville-le-Pont, situated to the south-east of Vincennes in Paris. Built under Louis-Philippe, from 1968 it housed the École nationale de police de Paris (ENPP), before becoming an illegal immigrants detention centre. Its south face is decorated with Auguste Arnaud's statue of a skirmisher, formerly placed next to one of a zouave on the old pont de l'Alma, but moved to its present position after the construction of the A4 autoroute in 1973.
