Maitai River walk

The Maitai / Mahitahi River is an awa (river) of the northwest of New Zealand's South Island. It flows westwards through hill country west of the Bryant Range before passing through the city of Nelson, reaching Tasman Bay at Nelson Haven. Major tributaries of the Maitai River include The Brook, Te Wairepo / York Stream and Sharland Creek.

The Diocese of Nelson is one of the 13 dioceses and hui amorangi of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. The Diocese covers the northern part of the South Island of New Zealand, which is mostly the area north of a line drawn from Greymouth to Kaikoura.The diocese was founded in 1858 and the seat of the Bishop is at Christ Church Cathedral in Nelson.

Botanical Gardens is a cricket ground in Nelson, Nelson Region, New Zealand, and is located close to the trigonometrical 'Centre of New Zealand'. The first recorded cricket match held on the ground came in January 1873 when Nelson played Auckland. The ground later held a first-class match when Nelson played Wellington on 31 December 1883, which Nelson won by 39 runs.

Trafalgar Park is a sports ground located beside the CBD of Nelson, in New Zealand's South Island. The stadium has a capacity of 18,000, following upgrades completed for the 2011 Rugby World Cup. It takes its name from its location on Trafalgar Street.The park is one of the two home grounds for ITM Cup rugby team, the Tasman Makos.

Port Nelson, as its name suggests, is the main port area of Nelson, New Zealand. It lies to the northwest of Nelson city centre, to the north of Washington Valley, at the southern end of Nelson Haven. The harbour entrance lies at the southwestern end of Boulder Bank, immediately to the west of Port Nelson.

Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) is the largest public Tertiary Education Institution at the Top of the South Island in New Zealand. NMIT's main campus is in Nelson with other campuses in Blenheim, Marlborough, Woodbourne and Richmond. It has been providing tertiary education in the Nelson-Marlborough region since 1904.
