Cairnhill Woods

Bearsden ( (listen)) is a town in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland, on the northwestern fringe of Greater Glasgow. Approximately 6 miles (10 km) from Glasgow City Centre, the town is effectively a suburb, and its housing development coincided with the 1863 introduction of a railway line. The town was named after Bearsden railway station, which was named after a nearby cottage.

The School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow is one of six veterinary schools in the United Kingdom, and offers undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Veterinary Medicine.It was established in 1862 as the independent Glasgow Veterinary College, being subsumed into the University in 1949 and gaining independent faculty status in 1969.

Netherton appears in Joan Blaeu's 1662 Atlas of Scotland and many subsequent old maps. It is currently not shown on Ordnance Survey maps greater than 1:25000 scale.

It is located on the Argyle Line, 5 miles (8 km) west of Glasgow Central and the North Clyde Line, 4.3 miles (7 km) west of Glasgow Queen Street.
