There is ample parking at the trail head for the Lake Zwerner hiking trail. I use this route for times when I only have time for a short hike. It leads to a swinging bench that has phenomenal views of the lake. This route is 1.75 miles total out and back on gravel and dirt hiking trail. There is minimal elevation change. The hike starts with roughly a quarter of a mile walk on gravel in a lightly wooded area with a few good views of the lake. Then the route enters the forest for the roughly 1/2 mile walk to the swinging bench. The trail meanders through old hardwoods and had a small creek crossing where you can choose between a bridge or rock hopping footpath. The bench is placed on a point the just out into the lake to give you amazing peaceful views. The route returns back the same way. There are places to sit along the route and a picnic area next to the lake at the trailhead. There are no bathrooms.
