So far, excellent trail for my first time (taken 11am-1pm). Trees keep the air temps a few degrees cooler. You only have to stop to cross infrequently every 5 miles or so, which is nothing compared to other trails on LI NY. That is excellent for speed momentum. The two ways they can improve though are cleaning up the trail to clear bike paths of thorns (which can flatten tires) and repave certain parts that are “buckled” by possible tree growth underneath.
