Starting from Linville Falls Visitor Center, take trail to the left. It climbs for about 0.2 miles, then is fairly level for about 0.2 miles. At the signed intersection, continue straight to the Plunge Basin overlook or take a left for the steep descent to the bottom of the falls. This section of the trail is strenuous but well worth the effort.
