a mellow move in Dreghorn Military Zone

.....could almost immerse myself in the ominous sounds of gunfire, the knitted comradeship of war-time soldiers, the pregnant silence and the urgency of each breathe that must have been the constant routine of life of those soldiers who prowled in the numerous trenches within the Dreghorn woodlands, and who either fell and /or survived during the two worlds when the trenches were dug and used. There is still a potent military sense and habitat around the area as reflected by the live wire fences and barracks...., but it adds to the combined intrigue & security I felt as I enjoyed my lonesome stroll.
