Surrounded by many old but beautiful buildings and easily reached from Piata Romana or Piata Lahovari on foot, the Icoanei Garden is a small park, one of the oldest in Bucharest. Old trees, benches, sandy alleys, a children playground, two areas for dogs, a fountain, some statues and many friendly pigeons. Some restaurants and cafes nearby and two churches - the Anglican Church (the only one in Bucharest) and the Orthodox Gradina Icoanei Church. Both are historical monuments. A beautiful old building near the park - Scoala Centrala (Central School), also a historical monument. You can visit them before or after a walk or, if you love theater, you can enjoy a show at Bulandra Theater/ Icoanei Garden Hall, situated close to the park.
