EXE

Exeter ( (listen)) is a city in Devon, England, on the River Exe 36 miles (58 km) northeast of Plymouth and 65 miles (105 km) southwest of Bristol. It is the county town of Devon, and home to Devon County Council and the University of Exeter.In Roman Britain, Exeter was established as the base of Legio II Augusta under the personal command of Vespasian.

Exeter Quay, also known as Exeter Quayside, is a part of the city of Exeter next to the River Exe and the Exeter Ship Canal. It was first used as a port in prehistoric times when a sandstone ledge was used to unload the ships of overseas traders. However, by 1381 the Countess Weir had blocked the river to shipping.

The Butts Ferry is a hand-operated pedestrian cable ferry that crosses the River Exe in the city of Exeter in the English county of Devon. The crossing has been in use since at least 1641, but the name is more recent. The ferry is named after Mr George Butt, who fought to keep the ferry open when the City Council attempted to close it in 1971.

The Cygnet Theatre is a drama school based at a theatre building of the same name in Exeter, Devon, England.It was founded in 1980 out of an association between Monica Shallis (1939−2006), Mary G. Evans (born 1934) and the Northcott Theatre, Exeter, then under the direction of Richard Digby Day. It operates as a working theatre company, regularly producing plays to a professional standard, both at the Cygnet Theatre and on tour, giving its students a first-hand experience of life in the theatre industry.
