On Vancouver Island take the Alberni hiway toward McMillan Park. Park carefully off the hiway and the walk is on both side of the hiway. This is one of the areas that was logged but some amazingly old growth trees are still there for the viewing and for learning about these giant Douglas firs, Western Hemlock and Western cedars. Some of these trees were there before Columbus arrived in the west
