The path is sandy for the first mile then turn gets rocky. Stay on the main trail there are cactus off the road. There may be vehicle traffic alone the trail at times. Near the mine the trail gets steep. Wear hiking shoes and take water with you. I recommend doing the trail in the fall or winter in mornings. Start before 10am. Even in the winter it gets warm on the desert trails. Look for wild life. Park across the the street from the trail start at Jojoba Wash. Explore the area around the mine. Our total trip was 3.35 miles.
