This is a variation to the full trail and therefore, it does not reach the summit of Lanipo. This variant is a short but intensive workout if you want to test your cardio. This trail is like a dragon’s back with many steep ups and downs with several rock scrambles. In this case it is about four mounts to complete after which you will arrive at a great scenic vista of Diamond Head and Honolulu at approximately 1550 feet in elevation. In all it’s a great work out and the trail is well maintained. An added plus are the birds and many flowers.
