The Battle of Teruel was fought in and around the city of Teruel during the Spanish Civil War. The combatants fought the battle between December 1937 and February 1938, during the worst Spanish winter in twenty years. The battle was one of the bloodier actions of the war with the city changing hands several times, first falling to the Republicans and eventually being re-taken by the Nationalists.

San Pedro Church (Spanish: Iglesia de San Pedro) is a 14th-century church and 13th century bell tower in Teruel, located in the Province of Teruel in the Aragon region of northeastern Spain.

Peña El Ajo is a cultural association formed in Teruel (Spain), in 1969. It is in the central and the oldest part of the City, "La Vaquilla Del Ángel". The association is in charge of scheduling a music festival which lasts for 4 days (Friday to Monday), over the weekend closest to 10 July. The staff of the association is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring the different musical event.

The Tower of Iglesia de San Salvador (Spanish: Torre de la Iglesia de San Salvador) is a mudéjar bell tower located in Teruel, Spain. It was declared Bien de Interés Cultural in 1911.It has been included in a World Heritage Site, originally called "Mudejar Architecture of Teruel" and later extended.

Teruel (Spanish pronunciation: [teˈɾwel]) is a city in Aragon, located in eastern Spain, and is also the capital of Teruel Province. It has a population of 35,675 in 2014 making it the least populated provincial capital in the country. It is noted for its harsh climate, with a very big daily variation on temperatures and its renowned jamón serrano (cured ham), its pottery, its surrounding archaeological sites, rock outcrops containing some of the oldest dinosaur remains of the Iberian Peninsula, and its famous events: La Vaquilla del Ángel during the weekend (Friday to Monday) closest to 10 July and "Bodas de Isabel de Segura" around the third weekend of February.

Teruel Cathedral or Catedral de Santa María de Mediavilla de Teruel is a Roman Catholic church in Teruel (Province of Teruel, Aragon, Spain). Dedicated to St. Mary, it is a notable example of Mudéjar architecture. Together with other churches in the town and in the province of Zaragoza, it has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986.
