LotsOf places to start, but maybe best to start from the trail parking lot which is about a half mile south of the Blodgett Peak open space parking lot off Woodman Road. Trail ascends behind the peregrine neighborhood, and traces a couple of ravines. Overall there is about a 500 foot elevation gain two beautiful views of Mount St. Francis and The valley beyond. The trail then discerns through Pine Forest down to the fire Road which leads back to Woodman Road. This is bear country and lion country, so It is advisable to be alert and prepared. We have never had a problem with wildlife however. There are also not huge amounts of people on the trail even on weekends. The system is so large that it’s not unusual to only encounter a handful of folks over the course of an hour or two. Also good for bicycling.
