We finished up the rest of the Harte Trail today. It’s easy to get too. Actually many different ways you can get to it from a number of roads off Grant or Roblin Blvd. We took Scotswood Drive off Roblin Blvd walked it right to the end till we hit the little playground area (not finished yet) then took the path leading to the trail. There’s lots of trees on both sides of the trail which is nice for shade coverage depending on where the sun is at the time of the day. The farther you go down the trail closer to the homes there’s next to no shade. Quite open area there. Very sunny when there’s no cloud coverage. (We headed south this time) You’ll pass the marker 4k once on the trail and keep going till you hit the last marker 6.5k which is the end of the trail. Leads to an open field near the highway with a grassy ditch between, cutting it off from the trail. There’s benches all along the trail if you need to rest. Also a little scenic area with bench a park of sorts with information (in the open area, off the trail) about the area, etc… with plants, trees and shrubs. Great resting stop. Also a newer area of homes to the left of you if you’re walking south of it. Quite lovely. Paths throughout. I should mention that in the winter time the trails are also accessible too. You can take many roads that’ll lead out of the trail to head towards Roblin Blvd or whatever direction you may want to go in. We took Dale walked it up to Roblin Blvd, then Paradise Drive to Southboine Drive, which is one of my favourite routes to take in the Charleswood area of the city. Many lovely homes along the river bank. Quite enjoyed this walk. It took us over 2 hrs in all. The trail it’s self from where we were about an hr long. The whole trail itself takes about 3-4 hrs approx start to finish heading in one direction. That’s if you’re not deciding to take any of the other intersecting trails off of the Harte Trail. Love walking this trail. Great to get away from the noisy traffic of the city. There’s lots of nature to encounter along the trails such as birds, deer and squirrels. 🐦🦆🦌🐿 Thankfully no mosquitoes. 🦟Best to go during the day if you wanna avoid them. 🐝🐞🦋🌲🌳🐕🏃🏼‍♀️☀️
