Tampa Riverwalk is a 2.6-mile-long (4.2 km) open space and pedestrian trail development along the Hillsborough River in Tampa, Florida. The downtown Tampa portion runs alongside the Tampa Arts District and allows access to Curtis Hixon Park, MacDill Park, Tampa Museum of Art, Glazer Children's Museum, Rivergate Tower, and adjacent atrium containing the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts.

Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is an 8 acres (3.2 ha) public park located along the Hillsborough river in downtown Tampa, Florida that opened in its current configuration in 2010. It is adjacent to the Tampa Riverwalk, Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, Tampa Museum of Art, Glazer Children's Museum, and Rivergate Tower.

The Garrison Channel is one of several channels for boat traffic in and around the Port of Tampa in the City of Tampa, Florida. The Garrison Channel is anchored by the Channelside District on the East, leads to the Ybor and Sparkman Channel and by the Tampa Convention Center on its westside. It also leads itself to the Hillsborough River.

Tampa Marriott Waterside is a 326-foot (99 m) high rise hotel in Tampa, Florida near the Tampa Convention Center It was completed in 2000 and has 27 floors with 750 rooms and 50,000 square feet (4,600 m2) of meeting space. It is the city's largest hotel and the 12th tallest in Tampa.

On January 5, 2002, Charles J. Bishop, a high-school student of East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, Florida, United States, stole a Cessna 172 light aircraft and crashed it into the side of the Bank of America Tower in downtown Tampa, Florida. The impact killed the teenager and damaged an office room, but there were no other injuries.

Fort Brooke was a historical military post situated on the east bank (at the mouth) of the Hillsborough River in present-day Tampa, Florida. The fort was established in 1824, soon after Florida was acquired by the United States from Spain. It was an important post during the Seminole Wars and of lesser importance during the United States Civil War.

The Rivergate Tower is a 454-foot-tall (138 m) skyscraper in Tampa, Florida. With 31 floors, it is the sixth tallest building in Tampa. Rivergate Tower's principal tenant is Sykes Enterprises, a publicly traded company that operates technical help and customer support centers internationally.

Trump Tower Tampa was the name of an unfinished condominium project located in downtown Tampa, Florida. The construction of the towers was never started due to the economic collapse of the real estate market. Located at the northwest corner of West Brorein St. and South Ashley Avenue, the building would have been visible from the end of Bayshore Boulevard and Tampa General Hospital on the Hillsborough River waterline.

The David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts opened its doors as the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, Tampa, Florida in July 1987. The venue was rebranded in November 2009 to recognize the donation of financier David A. Straz, Jr.--the largest individual philanthropic gift ever made to a cultural institution in Tampa.

The Tampa Convention Center is a mid-sized convention center located in downtown Tampa, Florida at the mouth of the Hillsborough River. It has both waterfront views of Tampa Bay and views of the city's skyline. Harbour Island is across the eponymous bridge on the other side of the Garrison Channel. The center is connected to the neighboring Channelside District and Ybor City via the TECO Streetcar Line, which has a station across the street.
