Gulf of St. Lawrence

Gaspé is a city at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula in the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine region of eastern Quebec in Canada. Gaspé is located about 650 km (400 mi) northeast of Quebec City, and 350 km (220 mi) east of Rimouski. As of the 2011 Canadian Census, the city had a total population of 15,163.In addition to the city, Gaspé's territory includes the communities of Cap-aux-Os, Cap-des-Rosiers, Douglastown, Haldimand, Jersey Cove, L'Anse-à-Fugère, L'Anse-à-Valleau, L'Anse-au-Griffon, Penouille, Petit-Cap, Petite-Rivière-au-Renard, Pointe-Jaune, Rivière-au-Renard, Rivière-Morris, Sandy Beach, Saint-Majorique, Saint-Maurice-de-l'Échouerie, Wakeham, and York Centre.

The Cross of Gaspé is a monolithic granite cross installed in 1934 in the town of Gaspé, Quebec, commissioned by the Government of Canada to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the arrival of French explorers in Canada. The original Cross of Gaspé was erected on July 24, 1534 overlooking the bay of Gaspé, by the team of Jacques Cartier on his first trip exploration in the Gulf of St.

It is located on Rue de la Marina.It was the final stopover of Via Rail's Montreal–Gaspé train until service on the line (train 16/17 between Carleton and Gaspé) was interrupted in 2013. The station was staffed and is wheelchair-accessible.

Christ the King Cathedral (French: Cathédrale du Christ-Roi de Gaspé) is a religious building in the city of Gaspé, Quebec in eastern Canada. Located on rue de la Cathédrale, adjacent to the Saint-Rosaire Gaspé Elementary School, it is the only wooden cathedral in North America.
