Christ the King Monument - Lissabon

The Sanctuary of Christ the King (Portuguese: Santuário de Cristo Rei) is a Catholic monument and shrine dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ overlooking the city of Lisbon situated in Almada, in Portugal. It was inspired by the Christ the Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil, after the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon visited that monument.

Almada (Portuguese pronunciation: [alˈmaðɐ] (listen)) is a city and a municipality in Portugal, located on the southern margin of the Tagus River, on the opposite side of the river from Lisbon. The two cities are connected by the 25 de Abril Bridge. The population in 2011 was 174,030, in an area of 70.21 km².

It connects the Rua de São Paulo with Calçada do Combro/Rua do Loreto, operated by Carris. Although commonly described as a funicular, technically it does not qualify because the traction is not provided by a mechanical cable but by electric motors on the two cars (powered through an overhead wire).

Baixa-Chiado is an interchange station where the Blue and Green Lines of the Lisbon Metro connect, being located under Rua Ivens between Baixa and Chiado, hence its name.

Almada, Cova da Piedade, Pragal e Cacilhas is a civil parish in the municipality of Almada, in the Portuguese district of Setúbal. It was formed in 2013 from the merger of the former parishes of Almada, Cova da Piedade, Pragal and Cacilhas, and covers an area of 6.15 square kilometres (66,200,000 sq ft).

The Rua Augusta Arch (Portuguese: Arco da Rua Augusta) is a stone, triumphal arch-like, historical building and visitor attraction in Lisbon, Portugal, on the Praça do Comércio. It was built to commemorate the city's reconstruction after the 1755 earthquake. It has six columns (some 11 m high) and is adorned with statues of various historical figures.

Cais do Sodré is a station on the Green Line of the Lisbon Metro. It is located in the Praça Duque da Terceira, connecting to the Cais do Sodré railway station and with a boat station (allowing for quick travel between Lisbon and Cacilhas, Seixal and Montijo.

São Nicolau (Portuguese pronunciation: [sɐ̃w̃ nikuˈlaw]) (English: Saint Nicholas) is a former civil parish (freguesia) in the city and municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. It was 0.25 km² in area with 1,175 inhabitants as of 2001. At the administrative reorganization of Lisbon on 8 December 2012 it became part of the parish Santa Maria Maior.
