We had three dogs and four humans on our walk today. Sandy and Jasper made friends quickly with little Boogie and had a blast even though Jasper’s not quite yet ready to strike out into the river 🐶🐶🐶

🕊️🥀 Friends, thank you for your superkind words of sympathy and consolation following the loss of our family dog, Rari ❤️‍🩹. Lots of you know what it’s like to lose a beloved pet and your words meant so much to me. I’m taking a break from individual competitions and posting to focus on family health issues, as well as some new work plans and projects. I’ll also spend time training and bonding with Rari’s two young sons, Sandy and Jasper, pictured below 🐶🐶💞. I’ll still be around though doing my steps and occasionally looking at the feed. Have a fantastic end to July and a brilliant and fulfilling August and see you back in the competitions when the time is right 🎉. Love always, x 🌹

🐕‍🦺🐩 Rari’s friends and family: Rari was born on 7th February 2019. He was named Rah, after the Egyptian sun god, but everyone called him Rari. His mother was a Shitzu 🐩 and his father a Cane Corso 🐕‍🦺. He got his cuteness from his mother yet felt there was a big dog inside him. Usually he tried to befriend the big dogs but occasionally he would bark at them and if they tried to pounce on him I would have to scoop him up quickly onto my shoulders. One big dog jumped up behind me to bite Rari’s leg. Here are some of Rari’s friends. #2 shows my daughter, Rari’s best human friend. His best doggy friend was Archie, my second daughter’s dog (#3). #4 shows Rari with Cookie and the litter of 8 puppies Cookie produced after I agreed to have her sleep over. #6 shows Rari with two of the puppies Cookie’s owner gave us. Thank you for all the joy you gave us Rari ❤️. Rest in peace beloved companion 🕯️🥀🐾🕊️🕊️

🐕🧗🏽Rari the Adventurer. My daughter brought Rari to live at home while I was away for a few months in 2021. When she asked me if I would take care of him because she was moving to a town apartment, I wasn’t sure I was ready for a dog in my life. She pointed out that he could come with me on my walks. And it was love at first sight ❤️. My daughter had given Rari equal measures of unconditional love, boundless affection and the right discipline, making him the perfect companion. Rari completely fitted in with my lifestyle and we went on many adventures together. Here are a few photos 🐕❤️🐢🚖🌅🌊🐏🐄🏍️

🕊️ Farewell my beloved Rari 🕯️🥀🐕🌾. Arrived in Accra last night but BA’s 24-hour delay on my travel turned my life upside down. Rari died 12 hours before l landed!! 😳😳😭😭 I’m devastated by the loss of my walking companion, hiking companion, garden companion, fellow adventurer, and intelligent, beautiful doggy soulmate. And worse than all the losses on my side is the thought that Rari died believing he’d been abandoned. My daughter believes Rari suffered from abandonment anxiety because his first two owners left the country. Had I travelled back on the scheduled day, Monday, I would have found Rari alive and was looking forward to spoiling him rotten. My heart is broken 🐕💔.
