For the peeps who were using the challenge to kick-start/re-start their movement, take things up a notch + maybe struggle with consistency and so this group has been super helpful. So basically, for peeps like, me!!! Are you sticking around + sharing updates August? Gina, is this group staying open until the next challenge so we can keep each other motivated? Pleeeaaasse? The positive peer pressure has been so useful for me to keep moving. I need it to go on just a little while longer 🙈. Anyone else feel this way?
I was + am proud with how I've done so far in this challenge. I started it at the beginning of my cycle + I've gone from probably doing about about 500 steps a day on average (madness but that's what it probably was) + very inconsistent, to moving everyday for 21 days in a row + as of last week clocking 20k steps by 7am (get you an accountability buddy who you start walking with at 5am - shoutout Joy! 🎉) + fitting in 2 strength sessions at the gym. But this week...,now at the end of my cycle. The levels of tired I have felt so far this week. lawd. + also vexness at having to do any kinda movement 😭😣😤 But it's fine 🙄. We move. Not everyday is gonna be a 20k + gym day. And that's okay. Today I got up at 5am and did a solo incline walk. I didn't clock all the morning steps I have been but I did manage to prove to myself, that in this part of my cycle, when everything is dipping, I can still show up + stand in the sub and that is *huge* for me.

Yesterday was the first day I had to rely on dedication + commitment to my walk for me and not motivation. For a good few mins when I woke up I debated not walking yesterday but at the end of the conversation with myself I felt that I would really regret not doing my steps at the end of the day. So I went on auto pilot. Got up, found a good 2hr podcast I like listening to and just walked. I didn't think about where I was going I just walked. About half way through the endorphins kicked in + they carried me through to complete my 10k in the morning. + I completed the rest in the afternoon and evening. I also very randomly met a fellow #walkingtojericho walker when I was near home and we now have a walking date tomorrow! Writing this to motivate others and myself as I try to psych myself out to get out again this morning 😳

For those wondering where to walk, or want to switch up their routes or discover more places + especially be out with nature, I've downloaded an app called All Trials It suggests walking trails ranging from easy to hard. Different lengths etc I've enjoyed using it explore areas close to me that don't involve pounding the streets. So parks, canal routes etc 😊
