It is motivating to watch the steps add up as the day progresses! Use these strategies to add more steps to your day:
Go on a 10-minute walk at a 3 mph pace. This short walk will add about 1,000 steps to your day, enough to bring significant health benefits!
Get off at a bus stop farther from your destination, and walk the rest of the way.
Get up and move during TV commercials.
Challenge a buddy to see who can get the most steps by the end of the day.
Walk around the house while talking on the phone.
Use a restroom that is farther away.
If productive and appropriate, go talk to a coworker in person instead of calling or messaging.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Take a work break and dance to your favorite song.
