1st night home from inpatient rehab. So tired, staying in bed most of the day. Tonight, went to my in-laws house for dinner. After dinner, we all watched a game show with Rob Lowe as the host. Forgot the name of the show. Stroke brain I guess?
2nd night back home from inpatient rehab.. Woke up with a rough headache this morning. Scared the crap outta me, thinking this is my 2nd that my doctor keeps mentioning! Took my regular dosage of pain rx that I take every morning for my RA. By 10 a.m., it was gone! Thank good goodness!
Last DAY (10) of inpatient stroke rehab! Discharged! Yay! I am outta here! I wrote thank you notes to all of my nurses and Therapists that I liked… Denise from PT, Stephany from OT, Brynne from ST and my nurses Tonya, Lisa, Miranda and Tatyana. All great folks that took such good care of me. \nHad my usual breakfast and I was then rolled out by Tonya to our car. But first, I got to ring the bell at the entrance to say that I’m done with my stay! And you better know… I 🔔RANG 🔔THE HELL 🔔OUTTA 🔔THAT🔔 BELL!!!\nI’m out y’all!! LOL!!🔔🤤✌🏽
Day NINE of inpatient stroke rehab! One more day till I am discharged from this place! I am to the point that I’m getting depressed being. The fact that I have to call on the call light to go to the restroom is THE worst! Especially when you now have a weak bladder bc of the stroke! Having to wait more than 10 minutes can be a big deal! Last OT/PT/ST all went great. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner were all pretty good. 😊👍🏽
Day EIGHT of inpatient stroke rehab. I had a good day…filled with activity. First thing I did was occupational therapy washing dishes by hand like I do at home. 4 glasses, plates and utensils. I washed/dried everyone without dropping anything! Next was PT where I practiced walking up and down stairs starting with my weak leg then my good leg. 5 stairs up and down. Then I had to step over a hurdle. It was a pipe fed through cones that holes were cut into. The good leg goes first then my weak leg. 10 reps for 3 sets. Last was speech therapy. I read a story and picked things out that had something to do with time management. Did it! Easy!\nBreakfast was good. I had toast, eggs, sausage, yogurt and cereal. Lunch was alright. I had chicken and rice. Kinda plain. Dinner was a big salad with chicken chunks, a boiled egg. Then something crazy happened. The fire alarm went off around 10 p.m. My nurse came through slamming every patient’s door. No fire. Just a test. Scared the crap outta me.
