12 June Stayed in Auckland and visited the famed Auckland Harbour area, and Albert Park. also drove northwest to the Muriwai Beach. Wanted to see the gannet colony, but none in sight. Only sign we were at the right place was all the droppings on the rock.

A delayed post for 7 Jun. Been there, but not done it. Hobbiton Movie set is still a popular attraction. All the morning slots were full. But is is ok. At least I was there.... Next stop at fast flowing stream with crystal clear water, the Te Waihou Blue Spring. Nice trail that lead to another viewing spot, the Putaruru Blue Spring, but turn back about one-third. Made an unplanned stop at the New Zealand Timber Museum and learned the evolution of the Timber industry. Final stop for the day, Skyline Rotorua. Did not done any adventurous rides. Just the gondola to enjoy the view.

Monday, 8 Jun 2026 Good morning from the land which is first to see sunrise. Did not realise till a friend congratulated me for being first few to see sunrise. At GMT +12, New Zealand is next to the International Date Line and always first to enjoy the day. Pics from the south side of Lake Rotorua.

Welcome June. A good start to the new month with a run to a scenic dam in the north. Too lazy and just want to clock 8km, so u-turn at 4km mark. But also leave some room for improvement in the next run. 😁
