The Station Nightclub fire occurred on February 20, 2003, when the band Great White's pyrotechnics ignited flammable soundproofing foam in the West Warwick, Rhode Island club. The fire rapidly engulfed the building, killing 100 people and injuring approximately 230 others. A major stampede at the front exit, fueled by flammable materials and the club's limited and crowded exits, trapped many victims, who died primarily from smoke inhalation.
