Is 10,000 steps a wall or a door?

Most walking clubs set 10K steps as the entry bar. For someone just starting out, recovering from something, or simply having a difficult day — that number can feel like a wall rather than a door. Bonfit exists for a different reason. The name comes from the French bon — good — and fit. Because good fitness is for everyone, not just the exceptional. Our minimum ask is 4K steps a day. Around 3km. 30 minutes of purposeful movement. Not because that’s enough — but because that’s where habits begin. 3 months ago I was doing 3K to 5K steps and thought that was a big deal. Today 20K feels ordinary. It happened because I showed up consistently at a level I could manage — and the habit built itself from there. Bonfit is intended to be a community of diverse walkers — some doing 4K, some 26K. No judgment on where you are. Just a collective goal of 100K steps daily that every member contributes to, wherever they start. Come as you are. Grow from there. Let’s keep moving. 🏃🏻‍➡️🏃‍♀️‍➡️🖖
