The Treasures of Agra is a collection of precious stones that finds itself at the center of events in one of the best Sherlock Holmes novels. The story is based on a real historical canvas — the Sepoy rebellion of 1857 in India. Conan Doyle used this event as a starting point: during the riot, the Raja, fearing the confiscation of wealth, hid some of the jewelry in an iron box in the Agra fort. Later, the box was stolen, and that's what sets off a chain of events: theft, a chain of betrayals and crimes that involve different people.
